Planner Society Kit - August 2017

The Planner Society Kit from Scarlet Lime is packed with items to use in your planners including A5, Personal, Pocket and Midoris. Each month it will include things like papers, a stamp, notepads, paperclips, page flags, note cards, embellishments, tags, pens, etc.  The cost is $24.95 per month.

Christy also offers sticker kits, Traveler's Notebook kits, Washi tape kits, as well as special offers to her subscribers that are extras and not part of the kits.  She is very active on Instagram, so if you're curious and want to see what it's all about before committing, follow her @theplannersociety.

You will always receive the same type of items, just in a different design each month. If you love digital art with tons of florals, you will love this kit. I like the designer papers and die cuts to make cards.

I know people who love this kit and can't wait to receive it each month.  I find it to be a bit repetitive, not only in the types of products you receive, but with the design in general.  Seems like she just changes the color scheme each month.  That being said, this month she did seem to branch out a bit.  Of the 3 kits I've received so far, this one is not as similar as the previous two were.

I do like that the products are presented in gorgeous patterned bags that coordinate with that month's kit.  I save them and reuse to package gifts.  If you'd like to get your own Planner Society kits, just click here.

Trillia Planning Parcel - August 2017

Trillia Planning Parcel is a monthly planner subscription from Canada. They ship internationally for $5.00.

Each month you can expect to receive the following kinds of products in your parcel:
  • scrapbook paper
  • stickers
  • washi tape
  • embellishments
  • stamps
  • pens

I like this subscription because, coming from Canada, it offers several items I might not otherwise know about or have access to.  The August 2017 Parcel has a retro Autumn feel to it.

Christina also includes a piece of chocolate with each parcel, which I appreciate.

Trillia Planning Parcel offers a Stickers only subscription as well. I haven't received the sticker subscription, so I can't review that here, but I think Trillia offers a good value for your money, especially when compared to some other planning boxes.  The Planning Parcel is $24 Canadian per month.  The Sticker Subscription is $34 Canadian per month.

Christina also has a separate shop on her website if you want to purchase additional supplies, or in lieu of a subscription plan.  If you'd like to check out Trillia for yourself, just click here.

Carnivore Club Subscription Box

Carnivore Club is a monthly subscription service that offers a selection of premium artisinal meats.  They feature different artisans each month.  This month's artisan is Imperial Chorizo based in Gloversville, New York.

This month's box features 4 different varieties of dried sausages:

Duck Saucisson
Wild Boar Salami
Saucisson Sec
Soppressata

First up is a 5 oz shrink wrapped package of Duck Saucisson. The label states that the duck used was raised without antibiotics and no nitrates were added. The handy insert provided by Carnivore Club suggests serving this one with fresh figs, grapes or melon. I found this to be a bit greasy and tough.

The next option is a 5 oz package of Wild Boar Salami.  This one also claims to be nitrate-free except for what naturally occurs in celery powder.  The insert states this salami highlights the unique flavor of the meat, allowing you to enjoy the primal, cave-man experience of enjoying some good boar.  I really liked this.  It was great with cheese and grapes.  Great flavor and not too gamey, which might be a consideration for some.

Next up is Saucisson Sec, which mixes wine, garlic and black pepper with pork and is cured for 5 weeks.  This one was okay, but nothing I'd seek out again.

Lastly is the Sopressata, which is a dry sausage made from coarsely ground pork and hung to dry.  I did not like this at all.  No.  Just....no.

I personally don't think this box is worth $50/month.  But if you'd like to try it for yourself, just click here.

August 2017 Stickii Club Subscription

Stickii Club is a monthly subscription for sticker lovers.  They have 3 different plans to choose from: Retro, Cute, or Pop.  Each month you'll receive 5 to 7 sticker sheets in your chosen theme.  The cost is $10 per month.

I chose a 3 month prepay of the Retro plan.  Honestly, I have not been blown away by these stickers.  I feel like there are way too many tiny stickers that aren't useful on cards or in a planner so they do me no good.  I gave my entire first pack away to a friend's 6 year old daughter.  She loved them, so that's good.

That said, this month was pretty good.  I have several options for cards or other projects.  So maybe it's one of those subscriptions that has good and bad months.

My favorite thing in this month's offering is a gorgeous postcard.  It's seriously frame-worthy.

Trendy Memo August 2017

Trendy Memo is a monthly lifestyle subscription box for working women.  It features office supplies, desk accessories, health and beauty items, and sometimes a healthy snack as well.  This month, Trendy Memo partnered with Graphique de France.

The first thing you see when you open the box is the August Memo.  It has a list of all the items included and a 15% off discount code to Graphique de France.  On the flip side of the memo is a place to write down your top goals and priorities, secondary tasks, key dates, and notes.  I like this idea because it's not just an info card you are likely to trash (or recycle) once you've read all the information for the box contents.  It has a built-in secondary purpose.

Graphique de France Deluxe Weekly Planner

This is a 17 month planner covered in soft leatherette material in a pretty blue hue.  It has weekly grids and note pages.  This is a nice planner.  It's sturdy, well-made, and very functional.  The paper isn't flimsy at all either, which I appreciate.

The next item in the box made me giddy!  Not just because I recently dropped my scissors behind my desk and can't reach them, but because these are so cool!  It's the Eiffel Tower in scissor form.  These have a nice weight to them, cut easily and cleanly, and look fabulous sitting on my desk.

The pink diamond ball pen writes well, has blue ink, gold trim, and compliments my other pen like this in pink and rose gold with black ink.  Before I discovered this had blue ink, I was considering passing this on to my niece since I already have one, but now it's not going anywhere.  I "need" it.

They call this the Do Over Highlighter.  It highlights in blue, and the white end erases your mistakes. Not sure I've ever had a highlighting error, but it's an interesting concept I suppose.  I tried this and while it does, in fact, erase the blue highlight; it left the page with what I'm going to call water damage.  Maybe I used too much, maybe not.  With that caveat, it certainly does what they claim it will.

Next up is the Metallic Gold Card Case.  This has a magnetic closure and is perfect for holding a few business cards or even your credit or loyalty cards as well.  Very nice and seems to be well-made as well.  I haven't decided yet how I will use it, but I'll definitely use it for something.

Lastly, is what they call a "statement necklace."  To me, a statement necklace is quite large, chunky, and/or blingy, etc.  This is quite delicate, dainty, and sweet.  I don't wear gold, as I have cool undertones, but I know several young ladies who will like this so I will most likely pass it on to one of them.

All in all, I liked this box quite a bit.  I'm eagerly awaiting the September box to arrive.  If you would like to subscribe to Trendy Memo you can choose from the month to month plan, which is $34.99 per month, or the 12 month prepay plan for $384.00 and get your first box for free.  Boxes ship out between the 1st and the 5th of the month. Just click here.
